License for pinouts and schematic symbols

You can use the pinout diagrams and tables and the schematic symbols from chiptron.eu/ for free in articles, forum posts, teaching, project documentation, online shops and books. They are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0): you may share them, adapt them and use them commercially. The only condition is to credit the source.

How to credit

Credit chiptron.eu/ with a link to the page the image comes from, and mention the CC BY 4.0 license. On a website, this is enough:

Pinout: <a href="https://chiptron.eu/pinouts/esp32-devkit-v1-pinout/">chiptron.eu/</a>, <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/">CC BY 4.0</a>
Schematic symbols: <a href="https://chiptron.eu/schematic-symbols/">chiptron.eu/</a>, <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/">CC BY 4.0</a>
  • In text without links, in print, slides or video: Source: chiptron.eu/pinouts, CC BY 4.0 (for symbols chiptron.eu/schematic-symbols).
  • In a schematic or document with several symbols, one credit is enough, for example below the schematic or in the colophon.
  • If you change the image – translate, crop, redraw or extend it – add modified.

What the license allows

  • copy and share the diagrams, tables and symbols in any medium or format,
  • adapt them, for example translate the labels, crop, redraw or add your own wiring,
  • use them commercially – in an online shop, a paid course, a book or company documentation.

The credit must not suggest that chiptron.eu/ endorses you or your use. And you may not restrict others from doing what the license permits, for example with technical protection or stricter terms.

What the license covers

The license applies to the pinout diagrams (PNG and SVG images) and pin tables in the Pinouts section and to the schematic symbols (SVG files) on the Schematic symbols page. For the symbols it covers our images, not the shapes themselves – those are described by the IEC 60617 standard.

It does not cover articles on chiptron.eu/, photos or the chiptron logo. Names and logos such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi or ESP32 are trademarks of their owners, and the license grants no rights to them.

No warranty

We compile the pinouts from manufacturers’ datasheets and documentation and check them carefully. Mistakes can still happen and manufacturers sometimes change board revisions, so please verify the pins in the manufacturer’s documentation before wiring. We are not liable for any damage resulting from the use of the pinouts or symbols.
