Sequre S99 is an interesting soldering iron. It combines high performance, very high-quality JBC tips, and moreover, the price of the soldering iron is well below 1000 CZK.

#DnesniPosta has expanded my collection of soldering irons with the Sequre S99 – USB-C soldering iron for my favorite JBC C245 tips. I had no exaggerated expectations, it has many compromises, but it is definitely usable.
At first glance, it feels quite fragile, made of thin plastic, and is very lightweight. With many of these soldering irons, I am somewhat troubled that it lacks any “stop” for the fingers at the end of the body and silicone or at least some insulation to prevent it from heating up too much during prolonged soldering.
This is no exception, but fortunately, the body does not heat up excessively and the temperature stabilizes around 43 degrees. I was also disappointed that it does not fit “metal on metal” into the stand for JBC handles. The interchangeable tips are great, but without the appropriate stand, you cannot fully utilize this great advantage.
With a suitable power supply and cable, it heats up very quickly and seemed to hold the temperature well. It also has a grounding screw for soldering sensitive components. The controls are not the pinnacle of intuitiveness, but they are manageable. Overall, the ergonomics are rather average.
If you have JBC tips, I would gladly recommend it as a secondary compact soldering iron. As a cheap soldering iron for occasional soldering, it is also perfectly fine (I have no idea how long the supplied tips will last). However, a better choice for most people would probably be the Pinecil.

The specifications of the Sequre S99 are very interesting. The weight of the soldering iron without a tip is just 22g, with a tip only 28g. This is a very low weight compared to competing soldering irons. The TS 101 weighs 33g, Pinecil 30g, and Fnirsi HS-02A even over 50g.
The temperature of the soldering iron can be set from 50 to 500 ˚C, powered by a USB-C adapter. The soldering iron supports all modern fast charging protocols – USB PD, QC, and PPS. The maximum input voltage can be up to 21V, and it works from 5V.
The power of the soldering iron is 75 W when using a tip with 5.5 R resistance, 150 W when using a tip with 2.5 R resistance. The data is displayed on an OLED screen with a resolution of 128×32 px.
The Sequre S99 includes protections – protection against low and high voltage, temperature, and so on. The soldering iron also has a built-in buzzer. The tips are interchangeable without the need for tools.
Warning: Always replace the tip only when it is cold!
