Arduino MKR WAN 1300 and MRK GSM 1400

Arduino.cc released two new boards called MKR. A few boards with MKR name are available in store. MKR FOX 1200 with IoT Sigfox module and basic board called MKR 1000 with WiFi WINC1500 module.

MKR WAN 1300

Arduino development board with SAMD21 (32bit ARM Cortex-M0+) microcontroller and Lo-Ra module CMWZ1ZZABZ by Murata company. The same module is used in LoRa discovery board with STM32L072 microcontroller.

MKR WAN 1300 can be powered by 2x AAA or AA battery and also 5V power supply. Of course, the MKR WAN 1300 can be powered by microUSB. u.FL connector for external antenna is on board.

LED is connected on D6 GPIO, not on D13.

The dimension of board is 67.64 x 25 mm weight of board is 32 g. The price is ?35 without shipping.

MKR GSM 1400

The MKR GSM 1400 board also contains SAMD21 microcontroller (32bit ARM Cortex-M0+).

The board can be powered by USB (5V) or external power supply (5 – 12V). The board contains battery input for LiPo 3.7V.

The GSM module is SARAU201 by u-blox.

Onboard LED is connected to D6, not D13.

The dimension of board is 67.64 x 25 mm and weight is 32 g. The price is ?59.90 without shipping.
