
The Raspberry Pi 4 is receiving an unexpected hardware upgrade: support for two memory chips in response to the RAM shortage caused by the AI boom.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation has quietly updated the design of its well-known Raspberry Pi 4 Model B minicomputer to use two DRAM chips instead of one. This move is a direct response to the rising prices of memory modules due to massive demand from the AI industry—often referred to as the AI bubble—that is driving up DRAM component prices.
