Leak of information about the hot new product, the Bambu Lab X2D 3D printer. Photos and specifications.

A few days ago, Bambu Lab announced a new product – the X2D 3D printer. A 3D printer that aims to take 3D printing a step further. The official release is expected today (i.e., April 14, 2026) at 4:00 PM our time. However, you will find out about it earlier with chiptron.cz. Leaked photos and specifications of the X2D can be found right here.

The information published here is based on the premature release of the product on the e-shop, discussions on Reddit, and Chinese communication platforms. The article may still be modified or corrected.

After Bambu Lab “cut” the X1C 3D printer, everyone was waiting to see what new model would come next. And the new model is indeed the X2D.

What should primarily attract attention to the Bambu Lab X2D 3D printer? The print volume of 256x256x256mm (the same as the X1C)? Or the dual-nozzle for better and more beautiful multi-color and multi-material printing? Or will it be the improved print problem detection using AI?

The printer features a 5-inch LCD display with a clear menu. The 3D printer has a dual-nozzle, which, according to information, combines direct drive and bowden, where the active nozzle is activated while the inactive one is lifted.

The nozzle temperature should reach up to 350 °C, the bed up to 120 °C, and the chamber up to 65 °C. The chamber is expected to be ventilated with filtered air.

Carbon rods are expected to be replaced with steel linear rails for easier maintenance. The X2D should be, unexpectedly :-), compatible with their AMS – that is, the multi-material and multi-color system.

It should be noted that while the print area is indeed 256x256x256 mm, when printing with both nozzles, it can be assumed that the print area will be slightly smaller. Estimates agree on a print area (when using both nozzles) of approximately 235x235x250mm.

LiDAR is expected to be the technology that will handle the compensation for the unevenness of the bed.

Dual extrusion has one significant advantage; during printing, there is no need to move to a parking zone. However, a cleaning tower will still be necessary. One nozzle is direct drive, while the other is bowden. The active nozzle is activated, while the inactive one is lifted.

For soft materials, typically TPU, there is an issue with filament feeding – the X2D brings an improved input mechanism designed specifically for TPU filaments.

This should resolve three main issues – slow feeding, filament jamming, and finally, filament slipping.

The price of the X2D Combo is expected to be 899.99 USD, according to bestbuy.
