MeshPocket as a (wireless) charger and LoRa node in one.

Heltec is on the move. They are introducing a new product in the form of a power bank that can charge your mobile phone wirelessly as well as via cable, and additionally, MeshPocket includes LoRa connectivity and can function as a (Meshtastic/MeshCore) LoRa node. MeshPocket has passed certification from the Wireless Power Consortium and meets the Qi2 standard.

Did that last sentence surprise you? Yes, passing the Qi2 certification is not cheap, and Heltec really went for it. It meets Qi2 and the MPP protocol (Magnetic Power Profile), allowing for up to 15W charging. It can also charge phones and devices with the older Qi protocol.

Wired charging complies with charging protocols such as PD (Power Delivery), AFC, Huawei, and others. The output/input voltage is supported at 9V/2.22A and 5V/3A.

You can utilize wired and wireless charging at the same time.

In addition to the wired/wireless power bank function and LoRa connectivity, MeshPocket also includes Bluetooth for connecting to your phone and using applications like Meshtastic or MeshCore (if MeshPocket is added to the supported devices). For displaying basic information, there is an eInk/ePaper display with a diagonal of 2.13″.

Of course, it also includes protections against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, temperature, etc.

MeshPocket is available in two versions differing in battery capacity – 5000mAh for (pre-sale) 49 USD and 10000mAh for (pre-sale) 59 USD.

The LoRa connectivity is handled by the SX1262 chip, while Bluetooth is managed by the nRF52840. Even though MeshPocket is not easily accessible (without force), the firmware in MeshPocket can be updated.
